Police are asking for the public’s help after messages of hate were found in mailboxes throughout Plainview. The flyers reference the Goyim Defense League, which according to the Anti-Defamation League, is an antisemitic hate group.
Great Neck resident Weihua Yan is hoping to represent District 10 in the Nassau County Legislature. He says he wants more Asian American to live and thrive in the area. “I want to give other people the opportunity, give back to my community,” Yan says.
Candidates throughout Nassau County were announced in late April, including county and town seats. Scheiner, a Democrat, is running against Republican incumbent C. William Gaylor III for the 14th Legislative District seat.
Nassau County Legislator Josh Lafazan announced the introduction of a bill that would require the county to become carbon-neutral by 2035 to address ecological and infrastructure challenges before they become insurmountable.
